His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house will consume me.
The goal of our internships is simple. We teach people how to encounter God. Our internships are a five-month season of consecration to seek God. During the internship, you will be immersed in 5 key activities:
1) Prayer & Worship
Because of God’s nature, it is impossible to encounter Him and remained unchanged. In this internship, you will stand before God in the place of prayer as He encounters you. You will also have an opportunity to learn how to lead worship and play the piano.
2) The Word of God
What better way to encounter God than go deep in His word? During the internship, we will not only teach you what the Bible says, we will teach you how to study and meditate on it for yourself. In the Zeal internship, you will receive deep biblical teaching on topics including:
- Intimacy with Jesus
- Finding your personal life calling
- Theology of Day and Night Prayer
- Prayer and Intercession
- Sermon on the Mount
- End times
- How to Study the Bible
- Holy Spirit
- Life of David
In his classic, Life Together, Detrick Bonhoeffer famously said, “I have discovered something greater than Christ in us… Christ in all of us.” There is nothing like encountering Jesus in the midst of community. The relationships you have determine the course of your life. Our interns, especially the full-timers will grow in community with one another.
How long can you stare at a missionary God and not become a missionary yourself? When Jesus came to earth, He embarked on the greatest mission trip ever known. After we look at Him, we are inspired to reach the world like He did. We will be reaching out to impact the community. We are excited about partnering with OHOP’s prison outreach ministry, where we will be empowering inmates to pray.
5) Personal Mentoring
Maturity does not come from spending time with people who are less mature than you; nor does maturity come from spending time with peers. Maturity comes from spending time with people who are more mature than you. That is why every intern is assigned a mentor, someone who is further along in their walk. Every week, each intern will have the opportunity to share their dreams, struggles, and questions with a specific person who is assigned to pour into them.
