The words that we speak on a daily basis are more powerful than we realize. Words can put a smile on someone’s face or bring tears to the eyes of another. The wrong words can crush the dreams and hopes of one or they can encourage and fill another with courage to face their difficulties in life.
Through my years of studying the word of God I have come to see and know that speaking God’s word releases His life creative force! No doubt there are some that have misused the teaching of speaking faith-filled words and have gone to extremes. This has kept many believers from embracing the need to speak God’s word over their lives, families and life’s situations. This however should not be reason enough to completely abandon and reject this gift from God that will help us fulfill our destiny in God’s Kingdom and our purpose here on earth.
Our Heavenly Father created the heavens and the earth by speaking words of life over a dark lifeless mass of nothing. He brought life from death and light from darkness. In like manner, because we have been made in the image and likeness of our Father God, our words should be words that reflect who we are in Christ and in agreement with the revelation of God’s will and goodness found in the Holy Scriptures.
